CAN-TEK ELECTRONICS
OUR STORY
The Leader in Electronic Troubleshooting
Can-Tek has evolved over the years. Right now the primary person is Donovan Stenger. Donovan has been involved in electronics his whole life. Beginning in grade school building crystal radios, and then later participating in high school science fairs at a local and regional level. Shortly after high school Donovan got a job at a local TV repair shop and there obtained his Journeyman's Electronics Technician Ticket, with RED Seal. After a while Donovan got bored and returned to SAIT to complete the 2 year Broadcast Technology course where he finished top of his class. After SAIT Donovan had a few temporary jobs, which included, Northern Telecom, CFRN-TV Edmonton, TSN Toronto, and finally CBC, Edmonton and Calgary. Donovan spent about a dozen years at CBC in the Transmission and Distribution department, working on special projects covering all aspects of radio and TV transmission. In the early 2000's Donovan returned to the Brooks area to expand his farming operation and began working at Can-Tek, then owned by Dean Hendricksen (a long time electronics technician and ace troubleshooter, as well). When Dean retired, Donovan took over ownership of Can-Tek and continues operating the business today.
